1944 Parker “51” set of fountain pen and mechanical pencil in India black with 14 karat solid pink and yellow gold caps in the Icicle or Empire State pattern. I bought this set in 1990 from an estate sale and at that time it appeared never to have been used. Since then I have used it occasionally, but it shows no signs of use. The pen was given as a retirement gift to F. A. Bartman by San Francisco’s legendary H. S. Crocker Co. where he worked as a typographer from 1888 until 1944! The imprints are very discreetly done at captop and lip. In my mind they do not detract. Please note that this pen came to me as a single jewel model and I added a double jewel blind cap. It comes with that and the original. This is far and away the best “51” set I have ever offered and I would not be selling it had I not gotten a Nassau Empire State set that I love just a bit more. I don’t really need two Empire State sets, do I? (PA4410)
