Description:

The Pelikan IBIS was the original school pen produced by Pelikan from the mid-1930s to 1949. A small durable pen and a fine alternative to the successor 140.

We now have a few examples of this pen.

GSH 16 features a truly uncommon CN IBIS nib marked as an E (for Italic) which makes it quite special, I think. $175

GSH 17 has a 14 Carat plain script stub nib. It shows some clouding and staining to the barrel. An excellent user!. $195.

PE4727 has a 14 Carat plain script EF nib. It shows some clouding and staining to the barrel. Another excellent user! $195.

PE4744  has a 14 Carat plain script BB nib. It shows some clouding and staining to the barrel. Otherwise this is a superb example with strong red-filled imprints and BB marking to the turning knob. Use this one with its luscious stub double broad nib or add it to a collection (or do both)! $225.

Others are often available. Feel free to inquire.

This pen is also part of a collection of mostly Pelikans that I have been asked to sell by the family of Gilly Hart, who was my first webmaster after my daughter Anna, designer of the site, went off to college. Sadly, Gilly died in February 2020 at the age of 38.
